Average Shower Time
The average shower length is 13 minutes, although most people admit they would prefer it to last about five minutes longer. The typical shower temperature is 99 degrees.
The cleanest country in the world is Mexico, where 90% of residents shower daily, followed by Australia and the UK. The US ranked fourth, with only about 70% of people showering every day. Near the bottom was China, where about 25% of residents showered daily.
Shower Tech
One reason change in shower habits is the addition of smartphones. About 75% of Americans take their smartphones with them into the bathroom when they shower, and 30% of men and 20% of women take their devices into the shower itself.
And what do they do with their phones in the shower? About 45% of people use them to make calls, another 45% use them to check their social media apps.
One thing that hasn’t changed is singing in the shower. About 3 out of 5 people said they frequently sing in the shower, with country music being the preferred genre, followed by rock (12%), pop (10%), and classical (7%).
The shower remains the place where people get many of their best ideas. About 67% of people participating in the poll said they prefer to use their shower time to reflect on relationships, work, and things that needed to get done around the house.
