Clean and Sanitize Your Shower Doors in Just 10 Minutes
Glass shower doors take a lot of abuse. Depending on the number of people living in your household, they can be splattered with water and dirt several times per day.
Fortunately, keeping your shower clean and free of bacteria, mold and mildew is relatively easy once you perform regular maintenance.
In just 10 minutes, you can remove soap scum, dirt, lime and any other unwanted material from your glass shower doors, leaving them crystal clear and completely sanitized.
Use an All-Purpose Cleaner
Begin by spraying your glass shower doors with an all-purpose cleaner, then scrubbing them gently with a stiff-bristled scrub brush.
If there’s a buildup of heavier material, use a stronger cleaner. If you prefer, there are eco-friendly cleaning products available at most discount and department stores, but you may be required to pay a little more for them.
Removing Water Spots
For most shower doors, that’s enough to keep them clean. But if you are cleaning a shower door that hasn’t been scrubbed in a while or is an older door with water spots, you may need to put in a little extra effort.
Pour a little undiluted white vinegar into a pot and bring it to a slow boil then remove it from the flame.
Using a microfiber cloth, pour a little of the water into the sponge, wait a moment or two, then rub it gently onto the water spots or stains. They should disappear after a few moments.
Removing the Vinegar Smell
While this method will cause your shower to smell like vinegar for a while, after a shower or two the smell will dissipate, especially if you properly ventilate your bathroom by opening both a window and a door.
Keeping your shower doors crystal clean will help improve the overall appearance of your bathroom and improve the perception your family and guests have of your home.
